The UKLA is delighted to work closely with Arkwright Engineering Scholarships and are actively seeking to support the development of the next generation of leaders in engineering, technical design and science.
Arkwright Engineering Scholarships is a registered charity that administers the most prestigious scholarship scheme of its type in the UK.
Arkwright identify, inspire and nurture future leaders in Engineering and Technical Design. They do this by awarding Arkwright Engineering Scholarships, through a rigorous selection process, to high-calibre students in year 11 (England and Wales), S4 (Scotland), year 12 (Northern Ireland). The scholarships support students through their A Levels or Scottish Advanced Highers and encourage students to pursue Engineering or technical Design at university or through a higher-level apprenticeship once they have completed their school studies and to take up careers in the field.
The next Lubricants and Lubrication Engineering Introductory Awareness Day is due to be held in 2022 – an event EXCLUSIVELY for Arkwright Scholars interested in careers in engineering.
UKLA has sponsored five students over the last two years. Students were placed with volunteer member organisations, Morris Lubricants, Houghton and R S Clare for work placements and mentoring.
