Membership
Application Procedures
Applicants
for corporate membership should be on behalf of a company
that has been trading actively for at least twelve months,
or can provide evidence that they have been
actively involved in the industry for several years.
Individual
Membership - is restricted to persons currently employed
by, retired from, or previously employed by a UKLA member
company or affiliates. Individual membership lapses
upon a person being re-employed by a non UKLA Member Company,
or if they commence trading in their own right.
All applicants must complete the enclosed application form.
Corporate applicants must also:
1. Provide a detailed C.V. covering their company's background
and activities.
2. Sign Appendix 'A' of the UKLA Code of Ethics.
3. Provide a copy
of their company's BS EN ISO 9000 or equivalent quality system
certificate.
These three
documents must accompany an application.
All applications
will be submitted to the Secretariat for processing.
UKLA activities
are organised both nationally and regionally, applicants can
indicate their local region: Southern; Midlands; North West
and Yorkshire & North East.
The Association
will take whatever action they feel appropriate to establish
the suitability of applicants.
Termination
of Membership:
sufficient notice must be given in accordance with the Association's
Memorandum & Articles of Association.
if Members wish to tender their resignation the UKLA
Secretariat must receive notification at least 60 clear
days prior to the commencement of the next subscription
year, other wise if such advance notice is not received,
members wishing to terminate will be liable
to pay the full subscription due for the ensuing year.
The UKLA subscription year commences on 1st January.
