CLC Module 9 – Health, Safety and The Environment

This module covers the evolution of the Health and Safety of ingredients, risk assessment and a hands-on workshop to practice the technique. Risks from heavy metals, such as lead, together with the associated risks of using certain chemical components in formulations, such as sodium nitrite etc. in various categories of lubricants are addressed. It will also cover other issues such as biocides, middle order metals and discussing environmental legislation and trends.  The DVD on the Safe Handling of Metalworking Fluids produced by the UKLA Metalworking Fluids Products Stewardship Group in conjunction with HSE will also feature in this module.
