UKLA provides more to the UK Lubricants Industry than any other source.

UKLA Membership Categories

Corporate Membership is conditional upon a company agreeing to abide by the UKLA Code of Ethics; INDIVIDUAL membership is also available subject to restrictions.

There are six categories of membership each with their own band:

1. Corporate Membership

- for those companies involved in the UK lubricants sector.

Examples include: - manufacturing blenders, lubricants refiners, allied product & raw material suppliers, lubricant and raw material importers, distributors & stockists, lubricants marketers and overseas companies who trade in the UK.

Within this category there are six bandings for membership subscription A.1 to E. They are based on the company's UK turnover for its Lubricants and allied products activity.

2. Associate Membership

- companies, proprietors or partnerships with operating divisions providing services to the lubricants industry (i.e. providers of services to the lubricants industry such as packaging, consultancy, storage, training, or business services etc.). Associates subscriptions are also based on six bandings A.1 to E. They are based on the company's UK turnover for its lubricants sector activity.

3. End-user Membership

- Lubricating oil and grease end-users, including companies utilising lubricants within a manufacturing process, garages, service stations and motor dealers etc. End-users pay a subscription based on the lowest turnover band A.1.

4. Academic Organisations

- available to all academic organisations worldwide. Subscription rate is a flat rate.

5. Overseas Membership

- Overseas companies who do not trade in the UK. Those companies who wish to keep up-to-date on developments in the UK market. Within this category there are six bandings for membership subscription A.1 to E. They are based on the company's overseas turnover for its Lubricants and allied products activity.

6. Individual Membership

- is restricted to persons currently employed by, retired from, or previously worked for a UKLA member company or affiliates. Individual membership lapses upon a person being re-employed by a non UKLA Member Company, or if they commence trading in their own right. Individual member's subscription is a flat rate.

Voting Rights and Eligibility for service on the Board, Task Groups and Committees

  • Corporate & Associate members have voting rights and are eligibility to stand for election to the Board.

  • All other categories do NOT have voting rights, nor can they stand for election to the Board. However, they can be co-opted on to Committees and Task Groups.
